What determines what an electrician costs?
One job is charged by the hour, another comes at a fixed price. Together these points determine what you end up paying, so you understand where your price comes from.
Hourly rate or fixed price
Small or unpredictable work is charged by the hour. For a clearly defined job, such as a fuse box or EV charger, we prefer to give a fixed price upfront. Then you know exactly where you stand.
Type and size of the job
Adding a socket is done in no time, wiring a whole house takes days. The more work and the more points, the higher the price. Larger jobs often work out cheaper per point.
Call-out charge
For the journey and loading up tools and materials we charge a fixed amount: €39 within Noord-Brabant. No per-kilometre rate and no travel-surcharge surprise afterwards.
Emergency, evening or weekend
Work planned during the day is the cheapest. If it needs doing urgently, in the evening or at the weekend, a surcharge applies. For an unsafe situation we explain that clearly upfront.
Materials and parts
The price of cables, sockets, circuit breakers or an EV charger counts too. We work with solid brands, not bargain-basement materials that you have to replace again after a few years.

Hourly rate or fixed price: when is which?
You can hire an electrician in two ways: by the hour or for a fixed price. Both are fair, they simply suit different jobs. Here is what to expect.
When by the hour?
For small and unpredictable work an hourly rate is the fairest. Think of tracing a fault, a few individual jobs or checking something over. You then pay for the time it actually takes, plus the call-out charge and any materials.
The usual hourly rate is between €45 and €70 excluding VAT. That may sound like a lot, but it covers more than just the time at your home: tools, insurance, knowledge of the standard and the journey there and back. A certified professional is not a cash-in-hand worker with a pair of pliers.
When a fixed price?
For a clearly defined job, such as replacing a fuse box, fitting an EV charger or wiring a house, we prefer to work with a fixed price upfront. You then know exactly where you stand, however long it ultimately takes.
We set that fixed price after a quick assessment of your situation. Materials, labour, the call-out charge and the final test are all included. No after-the-fact billing, no surprises. Only if something unexpected turns up during the work do we discuss it with you first.
The call-out charge: how does it work?
Almost every electrician charges a call-out fee for the journey and loading up tools and materials. With us that is a fixed amount of €39 within Noord-Brabant, not a per-kilometre rate that varies by address.
For a job with a fixed price the call-out charge is usually already included in the total. If you combine several jobs in one visit, you only pay it once. That helps.
VAT and what is in the price
We quote the hourly rates on this page both excluding and including VAT, because tradespeople often talk to each other in amounts excluding VAT. For you as a private customer it is the amount including 21% VAT that counts: reckon on roughly €55 to €85 per hour. The job prices in the tables are all including VAT and including fitting.
For work on an existing home the normal VAT rate of 21% applies. Our quote always states a fixed price that covers materials, labour, the call-out charge and the final test together. No surprises afterwards: any unexpected extra work we discuss with you first before we continue.
